Construction of Promenade Mall in Novi Sad to start in March

The NEPI Company plans to start building the Promenada Shopping Mall in Novi Sad by late March, and the mall is supposed to be opened by the end of 2018. The mall will be located near SPENS, at the intersection of two main streets in Novi Sad – Bulevar Oslobodjenja and Bulevar Cara Lazara.

The relevant spatial planning authorities have given their approval to the project and the developer is now waiting for all other required permits to come through. “Once we receive these permits, the construction work can begin. We are currently waiting for the location permit to be issued, and we are confident that the construction will start according to plan, i.e. in late March 2017”, Nemanja Savcic from NEPI says.

The company will spend close to 60 million EUR on constructing the mall, and it estimates that around 1,500 new jobs will be created once the mall is finished. Also, the tender for selection of subcontractors is about to be launched.

The Promenada Shopping Mall will span 150,000 square metres and will be one of the biggest shopping malls in the region. There will also be a parking lot with 2,300 parking spaces. The novelty is that the mall will have a green roof that will cover 10,000 square metres.

A small favour

Since 2013, Serbian Monitor has been offering to its readers carefully selected news about the Republic of Serbia, as a daily commitment stemming from the genuine desire to offer undistorted information about a country that is too often a victim of prejudice and superficiality. From November 2016, this service is available in English and Italian with a growing number of original articles with a goal of providing a complete picture of this Balkan country's economy, politics, culture and society. Our archive is completely free of charge, available to anyone who wants to get to know the country, to study its specific aspects, or to be constantly updated about it. This project will only be able to continue with the help of readers on whom we are calling to provide a small financial support so that we can continue supplying an increasingly expanding pool of information and original contributions.
