It’s Thursday, and time for our report about the cultural and entertainment events coming up in the next few days.
Event: Concert to mark 60 years of RTS
Place: Sports and Recreation Centre Tasmajdan
Time: 23rd and 24th August, at 8pm
The biggest and the oldest Serbian TV station – Radio-Television of Serbia (RTS) is marking its 60th anniversary with the big concerts. The first concert takes place on 23rd August, and will feature tje RTS Choir and Symphony Orchestra, RTS Big Band, the children Choir Kolibri, Kolo Ensemble and prominent Serbian actors Slobodan Ninkovic, Branislav Zeremski and Ivan Bosiljcic. Opera singer Jadranka Jovanovic, violinist Stefan Milenkovic, Dragana Radakovic, Bela Mavrak, and Aleksandar Sedlar are just some of the classical music artists who will delight the audiences.
Also, the night of the 23rd August is dedicated to the giants of the ex-Yugoslav pop and rock scene including – Bisera Veletanlic, Bajaga, Goran Bregovic, Magnifico, Bora Djordjevic, Zeljko Joksimovic, Mladen Vojcic Tifa and Alen Islamovic.
The second night, 24th August, is reserved for 60 most beautiful folk songs with the legendary Predrag Zivkovic Tozovac, Lepa Lukic, Haris Dzinovic, Merima Njegomir, Snezana Djurisic, Jelena Tomasevic, Zvonko Bogdan, Goca Lazarevic, Radisa Urosevic, es Aleksandar Ilic and Biljana Jevtic performing.
Event: Boat Carnival
Place: The Sava River Promenade
Time: 25th August, from 4:30pm to 9pm
The Belgrade Coat Carnival celebrates the city’s two rivers with a great party on the river bank and a colourful boat parade from the Branko’s Bridge to the confluence of the Sava into the Danube. Here is this year’s programme:
16:35 – the performance of the Police Orchestra and majorettes from Bela Crkva
17:00 – concert of the Children’s Cultural Centre – Leontina Vukomanovic, Bojana Stamenov and the Carolija” Choir
17:30 – official opening of the carnival with the speech of Miodrag Popovic, director of the Belgrade Tourist Board
18:00 – 19:30 – boat show
19:30 – performance by National Theatre’s opera singers as a part of the programme “Opera on Water”
19:40 – tango dance of performed by Belgrade dance schools
19:50 – Mikser Band’s performance
20:00 – concert of the guitar trio Balkanske Zice
20:40 – awards for the best decorated boat
20:50 – fireworks display
21:00 – concert of “The Bestbeat – The Beatles tribute band”
Event: NS Market
Place: Firchie Think Tank Studio
Time: 25th August, from 11am to 7pm
The visitors will be able to see and buy a variety of unique handmade such as jewelry, cosmetics, products made from wood, leather and textiles, musical instruments and many other things, plus there will be able to enjoy in old arts and crafts, authentic food and drinks. The musical instrument builder Vojin Maric will present this unique electrical guitars, while the Mame Novosadjanke Association and the Fine Skills Centre from Kikinda will showcase their handicrafts. Also, NS market has a humanitarian character where visitors will be able to buy products made by the Muscular Dystrophy Association of South Bačka District, and thus financially help the word done by this Association.
