As part of the pan-European network of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH), Capital Innovation Point Serbia (CIPS), the new European hub for digital innovation, will provide comprehensive support over the next four years to startups and small and medium-sized enterprises in Serbia during their digital transformation.
This support includes technical and mentoring assistance, training, investor networking, and access to cutting-edge technologies.
The aim is to enhance competitiveness in the field of innovation, open up new markets, and strengthen integration with European innovation ecosystems.
The CIPS project is co-financed by the European Union through the Digital Europe programme.
CIPS operates as a national network coordinated by the Science and Technology Park Belgrade, with partners including NALED, the Science and Technology Park Novi Sad, the State Data Centre in Kragujevac, and the Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad. Associated partners in the project are the School of Electrical Engineering at the University of Belgrade and the Institute of Physics.
As part of the EDIH network, CIPS will contribute to boosting the competitiveness of Serbian companies, opening new markets, and enhancing connections with European innovation ecosystems. This initiative opens the door for domestic companies to access knowledge, tools, and resources that were previously mostly available to more developed markets – creating new opportunities for Serbia’s economic digital leap, as highlighted during the launch.
The project will provide technical and mentoring support, training in business and technical skills, and activities aimed at improving access to funding and international business expansion.
Special focus is placed on strategically important sectors: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital services, smart manufacturing, agritech, and MedTech, further encouraging innovation development in high-growth-potential fields.
