Cinemafest starts on 2nd November in Belgrade, Kragujevac and Nis

Film festival Cinemefest will take place in Belgrade’s Sava Centre and CINEPLEXX cinemas in Belgrade, Kragujevac and Nis from 2nd to 9th November.

The most controversial Russian film this year – Matilda, directed by Alexei Uchitel – tells the story of the romantic relationship between the heir to the Russian throne, Nikolai Romanov, and the ballerina of the Imperial Theater, Matilda Kshesinskaya, from the time the 22-year-old crown prince and 18-year-old dancer in 1890 and until the coronation of Nikolai and his wife Alexandra Feodorovna in 1896. The leading actress in the film, Michalina Olszanska will come to Belgrade to officially open the Festival.

Other films that will be screened include Woody Allen’s “Wonder Wheel”, Doug Liman’s “The Wall”, Walter Hill’s “The Assignment” with Sigourney Weaver and Michele Rodriguez, the long-awaited Todd Haynes’ film “Wonderstruck” with Julianne Moore, and the new George Clooney project “Suburbicon”, written by the Coen brothers, starring Matt Damon.
