Cigarettes more expensive as of 1st January

As of January 1, the prices of all types of cigarettes in Serbia will go up by another 10 dinars per pack, so that the cheapest pack will cost 310 dinars, and the most expensive will go up to 600 dinars.

Since the excise duty schedule was adopted in late 2020, the price of cigarettes has increased twice a year, on average by 10 dinars each. One price increase was at the beginning of the year, while the second and last one was in July of this year. The prices of cigarettes will continue to go up until 2025.

The goal of these price changes is for Serbia to align with EU standards, according to which by 2025, instead of the current 70 euros, the state should earn at least 90 euros per 1,000 cigarettes or 1.8 euros per pack.

The excise duty on liquid for filling electronic cigarettes is increased by one dinar per millimetre of liquid, while the price of non-burning tobacco will also go up.
