On March 19th, construction will begin on the factory owned by the Chinese company Mei Tei. The factory will produce spare parts for automobiles and motors in a suburb of Belgrade, Baric, and 1,400 people will be hired, Belgrade mayor Sinisa Mali announced yesterday. The mayor added that the project will cost 60 million Euro.
The factory will be located at Baric. It will be built in 2017, and it was announced that production will also begin in this period. Before the end of this period, 770 people will be hired.
Mali, who promoted the construction of the factory in Obrenovac yesterday, announced that on March 19th, prime minister Aleksandar Vucic will lay the first stone together with representatives of the company’s offices in France.
“I am very happy to say that the job openings for this factory have already been advertised. This company will hire 770 people during the first phase of the project and 600 during the second phase,” Mali stated.
The mayor of Belgrade added that this will be the first time that a large factory has been built in Belgrade which produces exclusively products for export since 2003.
