China’s Yanfeng to open a plant in Kragujevac by the year-end

Yanfeng Automotive Interiors, a global leader in the production of vehicle interiors, is building a plant in Kragujevac to start production by the end of 2019, the announcement on the official website of the town of Kragujevac reads.

The company will produce components for vehicle interiors in its new production facility in Kragujevac which spans 18,500 square meters.

Close to 200 jobs will be created in the initial phase. As the plant is designed for 800 employees, however, the number of workers will gradually increase year-on-year.

This is Yanfeng’s first factory company in Serbia. Good infrastructure and the availability of qualified workers in and around Kragujevac were essential for choosing the location.

Yanfeng Automotive Interiors (IFAI) is the leading manufacturer of automotive interiors. The Shanghai-based company has about 110 manufacturing facilities and technical centres in 20 countries with over 32,000 employees worldwide, which design, develop and manufacture internal components for all car manufacturers.

Founded in 2015, the company is a joint venture between Yanfeng, one of China’s largest automotive suppliers, and Adienta, the world’s leading manufacturer of car seats.
