The city of Niš officials have announced that the company Xingyu (Xingyu Automotive Lighting Systems) will open a factory that will produce LED lighting for cars in April next year that will employ more than 1,000 people.
The head of the Office for Local Economic Development and Projects, Dusan Radivojevic, recalled that the Chinese investment was worth over 60 million euro.
According to him, the construction of the company’s plant will be completed in March, followed by the installation of the equipment and the production launch in April.
Radivojevic said representatives of the city and the Office for Local Economic Development and Projects have already spoken with two subcontractors of the Chinese company interested in coming and opening production plants in Niš too.

The Chinese company is a global leader in the production of LED lighting for the automotive industry.
The City Council has adopted a proposal make available 16.5 hectares of land owned by the city, to Xingyu. This land is state-owned and will allow the Chinese to further expand their production capacity.
The land will not be given for free to the Chinese investor, but will continue to be under publicly owned.
