On the occasion on the official Day of Loznica, which falls on 16th June, the mayor of that town Vidoje Petrovic announced the arrival of two large foreign companies, which will employ 1,500 workers.
“The total value of these two investments is about 100 million EUR. There is an investment by Rio Tinto which is estimated to be around one billion dollars”, Petrovic said.
At the ceremony, the Secretary General of the Serbian President, Nikola Selakovic specified that two automotive companies – American Adient and China’s Mint – were thinking about investing in this region, Tanjug reports.
“3,000 people from Podrinje will find employment”, said Selakovic, adding that in less than a month and a half, both contracts stipulating the arrival of these investors woulld be signed in Loznica.

Earlier, eKapija reported that Adient, a member of Johnson Controls, which produces car seats and interiors, is planning to open a facility in Banja Koviljaca near Loznica. This company, as eKapija learns, was set to sign an agreement on the lease of a facility of the company Pejak Handel, as confirmed by Branko Pejak, the company’s owner.
