China’s Mei Ta to open second factory in Obrenovac

The Chinese company Mei Ta will start constructing another factory in Baric and create 1,700 new jobs here, Beoinfo reports.

Belgrade Mayor, Sinisa Mali attended the official presentation of the new Mei Ta factory building in Obrenovac today and said that the construction was expected to be completed by the end of 2018.

“Mei Ta currently employs 800 people from Obrenovac and the surrounding area, as well as from Belgrade. Our friends from China are very satisfied with our workers, hence they’ve decided to build a new factory and to invest no less than EUR 100 million. The construction is scheduled to begin in late February or early March, and the factory should be completed September or October this year”, Mali added.

The new factory will span 55,000 square meters, and once it opens, it will employ a total of 2,500 people – 800 existing workers plus 1,700 new ones.

Mei Ta produces car, engine and general industrial components and strives towards becoming the global leader in production of turbo chargers.
