Chinese tyre manufacturer, Linglong has been searching for a location for its European production plant for almost a year, and out of the four considered countries, Serbia stands the best chance – the Vecernje Novosti daily writes.
According to the Novosti, the Chinese giant is still negotiating with the Serbian institutions about spending 400 million EUR on the new plant.
“Yes, it is true. Linglong is interested in investing in Serbia but they are yet to make the final decision”, Novosti’s sources from the tyre industry have confirmed.

The paper says that the Chinese have a plan of producing 10 million tyres for passenger vehicles, 2 million for cargo vehicles and 10,000 tyres for off-road vehicles in the new plant.
Last June, the Chinese Ambassador to Serbia, Li Manchang announced that a large tyre manufacturer from China could be opening a plant in Serbia.
