The Board for Cooperation of Science and Business of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (CCIS) plans to organize Speed Networking Meetings with large companies, startups, young scientists and researchers participating, the CCIS has announced.
The aim is for innovative solutions offered by the science community to find efficient application in the economy, announced Dr Mila Milenkovic, the Board’s Chairwoman.
“In the upcoming period, the Board will focus on putting together quality propositions and initiatives which will contribute to the transfer of know-how and technology, a better use of the results of scientific research and the creation of conditions for a quicker economic development and increased competitiveness of companies,” Dr Milenkovic pointed out.
One of the Board’s main goals, whose members include representatives of Telekom Serbia, NIS, ABB, Festo, Carlsberg Srbija, BitGear, Telegroup and others, is to support the development innovations through the CCIS’ Open Innovations Club to connect large companies with small and medium-sized enterprises and startups.
“This entails the creation of a stimulative environment for the development of innovations, the promotion of good practices, financial and non-financial support for innovative ideas and connecting all the key stakeholders, from scientific research institutions to the economy and companies,” Dr Milenkovic explains..
Meetings between directors of large companies and startups are planned as well. The companies will present their technological needs, and scientists will present their research results.
In the second half of the year, the Board is expected to launch a competition and invite young scientists, researchers and startups to submit their innovative solutions that might be implemented by large business systems in their operations.
