The Italian Embassy in Belgrade will host a reception apropos the Italian National Day on Friday, 2nd June with several events taking place that will be centered around important international gatherings which Italy will host in 2017.

On the occasion of the National Day celebration, the Embassy will present virtual Giro d’Italia with multiple-stages in Rome, Trieste, Taormina, Naples and Florence. The Serbian Army officers, who passed an Italian language course at the Italian Institute of Culture in Belgrade, will be presented with diplomas.

The Third Belgrade Gymnasium Chorus will sing the national anthems of Italy and Serbia. The guests will also be able to hear the best answer to the question „Why do you like Italy?“ from social media users.

The Balkan Express band will be in charge of music, while the guests will have an opportunity to taste wines and gastronomic specialities from the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the real Neapolitan pizzas that carry the original trademark issued by the Association of the Neapolitan Pizzaiolos.

The Italian National day commemorates the institutional referendum held by universal suffrage in 1946, in which the Italian people were called to the polls to decide on the form of government, following the Second World War and the fall of Fascism.
