As of today, travellers coming from Serbia will not be able to enter Bulgaria, except in case of transit; this is the notice published on the website of the Serbian Embassy in Sofia.
Bulgaria has introduced a temporary ban on entry for all persons from Serbia, regardless of their nationality, from 16 to 31 July.
The decision was taken due to the worsening epidemiological situation in Serbia and refers to all border crossing points, by air, sea, rail and land. The only exception is transit through Bulgaria to return to Serbia in minimum time.

The Bulgarian news agency Novinite reported that the same rules apply to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania and Turkey.
The European Union, of which Bulgaria is a member, decided yesterday to remove Serbia from the list of epidemiologically safe countries which nationals can travel within the Schengen borders.
The list is not binding but only a recommendation of the EU. Several EU members, out of the 27 members, have decided not to adhere to it.
