Britain’s Aptiv plans to open factory in Zajecar

After Leskovac and Novi Sad, where they already have factories, the British company Aptiv Packard, the producer electronic and electrical equipment for vehicles, is considering opening another facility in Zajecar.

If everything goes according to plan, the production facility in Zajecar will employ 5,000 workers

Unofficial sources say that this plant will span 40,000 square metres. Considering the nature of the company’s operations, the facility would primarily employ technicians.

Since Zajecar, which has around 6,000 people registered as unemployed with the National Employment Service, doesn’t have enough qualified workers, the British company is considering the possibility of employing workers from all towns and municipalities in the Timok District.

Aptiv has already opened a production facility worth close to EUR 30 million in Leskovac, which currently has 300 employees with the plan of upping that number to 2,000 by 2020. This British company, headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, operates in 45 countries and employs 147,000 workers.
