The German house music duo Booka Shade will perform on Friday, September 28th, in Belgrade, at the 15th birthday party of Toolroom.
Booka Shade has performed several times before in Serbia, namely at EXIT Festival and Love Fest, and at their Belgrade performance, they are going to play a lot of their unpublished material, as well as their own renditions of popular songs like “Body Language” and “In White Rooms”.
Booka Shade has released five albums of their own material, Memento, Movements, The Sun & the Neon Light, More! and Eve. Memento was seen as a more minimalist techno album, Movements pushed the boundaries of people’s definition of genres, introducing certain vocal and synth sounds unheard of in Memento.
Several Get Physical compilations have been mixed by Booka Shade and involve material from other Get Physical artists.
Their fifth album ‘Eve’ was recorded in Manchester’s acclaimed Eve Studios and was completed in their hometown of Berlin. The 12 track album includes special guests Fritz Helder (Azari & III), Fritz Kalkbrenner and Groove Armada’s Andy Cato on trombone. Music Shake’s music absorbs influences from all genres: classical, rock, jazz, movie score, which has arguably contributed to their wide appeal. Their impressive contribution to electronic music across many genres since 2004’s ‘Memento’ has seen them become dance music pioneers.
Booka Shade, founded by the Berlin-based duo Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier, has been at the forefront of electronic (house) music for two decades now.
