The PRO PR Awards were handed out for the seventeenth consecutive time, and this year’s award ceremony was held in Selce, in the Kvarner Bay. The PRO PR conference and awards have become the most important event in the region for communication and PR professionals.

The conference is held every year in a different Western Balkan country, with the view of disseminating the culture and skills required for a professional approach to communications and public relations in the region of the Western Balkans. During the three conference days, speakers from all over the world take part and exchange information with experts from the region, as well as talk about various degrees of sensitivity towards similar problems but in different contexts.

This year, the conference was especially focusing on communications in the tourism sector, featuring very innovative speeches and contributions, including those given by Katarina Milicevic from Croatia’s Think Tourism, specializing in data science solutions applied to tourism, or Chris Pomeroy, director of Global Strategies & Client Services at MMGY Global.

The conference was the host to the prestigious guests like Takashi Inoue, president of the Association of PR Agencies of Japan; Patrick Harrison, former head of communications for HRH Prince Charles and now the strategic director at Weber Shandwick in London; and Marcelo Risi, Communications Director of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Another winner of the PRO PR Award is Stefano Rolando, Professor of Theories and Techniques of Public Communication at the IULM in Milan and author of more than sixty books on the subject. For the past ten years, Mr Rolando has also been the head of the Information Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the Italian government.

Biagio Carrano ProPR Awards 2019

For Biagio Carrano the award is an incentive to incorporate more communications and PR as a fundamental tool to better elaborate investment choices: “I would like to thank the organizing committee and in particular, Danijel Koletic for giving me this prestigious award, but I also want to share the award with those people who have been working with me in the past few years or whom I have been teaching in numerous courses. Furthermore, I would like to thank my collaborators, past and present, who work on Serbian Monitor, which is today a reference point for readers from around the world. We, at eastCOM Consulting, are the only consulting company in Serbia that publishes free, quality information product such as the Serbian Monitor, available to everybody who wants to invest, have already invested in the country or just want to keep up to date with the latest news. Communicating means transmitting information and knowledge to overcome prejudices and calibrate investments not on the basis of personal impressions or hearsay, but on the basis of news and data”.
