Belgrade Winter Magic officially opened at the Sava Promenade tonight – the city government has announced.
The children choir of the Radio and Television of Serbia sang at the opening while the audience was entertained by clowns and Santa Claus who gave away presents. Also, an ice skate rink was opened.
The Belgrade Winter Magic even will last for another two months. Children will be able to ice skate, play in a makeshift castle and watch plays at the stage on the Sava Promenade.
Belgrade Mayor, Sinisa Mali said that the city government went out of its way „ to make upcoming holidays best ever with numerous events and activities“. „We have opened Tasmajdan, the Nikola Pasic Square, the Fairy Tale Square, and there will concerts for three consecutive nights on and around New Year’s eve“, the mayor said.
“Some of the revenue that we are going to generate during holiday events will be donated to the house for the parents of children with cancer called “Zvoncica”. We are also going to donate money to the organization called “Debra” which takes care of the so-called butterfly children”, the mayor confirmed.
