The promotional price of the round-trip ticket on the brand new Belgrade-Novi Sad fast train will be 750 dinars.

After the promotional period ends, the round-trip ticket will cost 1,600 dinars. According to the announcements of the railway authorities, the first fast train should leave Belgrade at 7.34 am and arrive in Novi Sad at 8.10 am. The double-decker high-speed train will depart five times a day from Prokop station in Belgrade to Novi Sad and the journey will take an average of 36 minutes, stopping only at the Novi Beograd station.

Passengers will be able to buy their tickets without waiting in line – via the Srbija Voz application, on the new ticket machines installed in the railway stations or at the railway station counters.

The train’s new software and the braking system are currently being tested at the Prokop train station and the best train drivers were chosen to drive the train.

Dragana Stanković, from Srbija Voz, says that the fast trains have 314 seats each.

“These are exclusive trains and they are frequently used in European countries. Serbia is the first country in the region to have such trains. The new trains will have available lunches served by the hostesses, as well as coffee, fruit juice and snacks. Passengers will also be able to buy these products in the special bar and can pay for them in cash or with credit cards,” Dragana Stankovic says.

She adds that the double-decker train is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment: “The train will have 12 electrically operated sliding doors. It also has toilets for people with reduced mobility, places for bicycles, coffee and juice dispensers and a special area for changing nappies. Passengers will have free Internet access on the train and some seats have additional lighting so they can read while travelling.”
