As of September 2021, you will be able to board a fast train from Belgrade to Novi Sad, that will reach the speed of up to 200km an hour. This was announced yesterday by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic.
During a visit to the laboratory that operates the high-speed Belgrade-Budapest rail track control system in Novi Beograd, Mihajlovic said that the high-speed line will run from this laboratory.
“In July, we will have completed the right track of the rail track between Belgrade and Stara Pazova and the entire section will be completed by the end of the year while the tests will last until March 2021. The section between Stara Pazova and Novi Sad will be completed at the end of August or the beginning of September,” said the Minister.

She noted that all the works will be executed in line with the contracts concluded with the contractors and in September 2021, the Serbian Railways will launch a fast train line from Belgrade to Novi Sad, with the trains travelling at the speed of up to 200 kilometres an hour.
Mihajlovic also tested a simulation of driving a train on the future high-speed line.
