Belgrade is the third most polluted city in the world this morning

According to the data posted on the AirVisual website, Belgrade is once again at the top of the world in terms of air pollution. This morning, the capital of Serbia is the third most polluted city in the world.

On the last day of October, only residents of the second largest city in Pakistan, Lahore, and New Delhi, the capital of India, had more polluted air than the people living in Belgrade.

AirVisual has assessed the air quality in Belgrade as “unhealthy”, with an air quality index of 169. PM2.5 particles were stated as the most problematic pollutant, as their  quantity exceeds the limit set by the World Health Organization by 17.9 times.

Belgrade is the only European city that is among the ten most polluted cities in the world. The list also includes Mumbai (India), Jaka (Pakistan), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Shanghai (China), Kuwait (Kuwait), Karachi (Pakistan) and Calcutta (India).

According to the website’s assessment, high pollution should last only today, and tomorrow it should be moderate.
