Belgrade Airport expands its check-in and passport control capacities

Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport is continuing with its ongoing multi-million-euro expansion.

Following the recent opening of its new duty free, it has now expanded its check-in area with the addition of twenty check-in desks. They continuously flow on from the check-in area in the central processor building in a semi-circle. They are located in the space which previously served as the main check-in area prior to the expansion. As a result, the airport now boasts over 90 check-in counters.

The airport is working on its 10.000-square metre new central plaza area, which will flow on from the duty-free, while the remodelling of the baggage claim area is also ongoing. The airport recently opened a second new carousel, with a further three to go.

At departures, passengers have at their disposal 16 channels for Border police passport control and 12 baggage screening devices with state-of-the-art technology that allows electrical devices to remain in hand luggage during screening, speeding up the entire process and saving time.

In the arrivals area, passport control now has 13 channels, compared to 8 channels available last summer season.
