Banca Intesa has launched its 5th Intesa Farmer competition for the most successful agricultural producers.
Since 2013, the bank has been giving out Intesa Farmer Awards in the following categories – arable farming, livestock breeding, fruit and vegetable growing, and, as of last year, the best Slow Food producer. The latter has been launched in collaboration with the international organization Slow Food which promotes quality, tradition and authenticity of locally produced food.
“For the fifth consecutive year, we are supporting development of agriculture through promoting outstanding individuals and awarding their hard work in reaching the best possible results. This is just one form of support that we provide to agriculture as a strategic and development opportunity for our economy. Thanks to our offer, the introduction of new, innovative products, and timely reaction to our clients’ needs, in 2016, we approved 35.5 million EUR worth of loans to agricultural producers, which is 38% more compared to last year”, said Darko Popovic, a member of Banca Intesa’s Executive Board and Director of the Retail and Small Business Division.
The winners will be selected by a jury comprising of the head of the Small Business Sector at Banca Intesa, Predrag Milenovic, Sponsorships, Donations and Events Manager at Banca Intesa, Vojislav Zivanovic, head of the Agriculture Office at Banca Intesa, Djordje Radulovic, president of the Slow Food Convivium in Serbia, Biagio Carrano, and editor-in-chief of Agrobiznis magazine, Goran Djakovic.
The winners will be selected based on the general criteria which include the achieved annual results in agricultural production, being in possession of their own storage facilities, involvement of family members in production process, and cooperation with Banca Intesa.
The application period started on 15th May and finishes on 1st August. Only registered agricultural producers, who are also clients of Banca Intesa, are eligible to apply at any branch office of Banca Intesa, via e-mail IntesaFarmerGodine@bancaintesa.rs, or on the bank’s website www.bancaintesa.rs .
