Banca Intesa has announced that, together with PBZ Bank from Croatia, VUB Bank from Slovakia and several members of Intesa Sanpaolo Group, had signed a contract with GTC S.A. on providing 64 million EUR for funding the construction of the Ada Shopping Mall in Belgrade.
This is GTC’s first investment in Serbia’s retail sector.
The Ada Shopping Mall will span 34,400 square metres which will be designed in line with the latest international standards. “We believe that, in this way, we are going to contribute to further recovery of the Serbian construction industry because the investments of this size have a big impact due to the fact that a considerable number of local companies will be engaged in construction”, said Draginja Djuric, Chairwoman of Banca Intesa’s Executive Board.
The mall will be located in Cukarica, just across Ada Ciganlija, and will house over 100 shops and brands. It will also have parts for fun and relaxation like a panoramic garden with the view of Ada Lake.
“The Ada Shopping Mall is devised to offer shoppers a unique shopping experience in Belgrade”, said Thomas Kurzmann, CEO of GTC.
The GTC Company was issued with a building permit for the Ada Shopping Mall in mid-February 2017. The construction started on 6th March, 2017, and the mall will be opened in the autumn of 2018.
