The average net wage in Serbia increased by a real 3% year-on-year in September, following a 2.6% annual increase in August, the country’s statistical office said on Friday.
In nominal terms, the average net wage totalled 85,066 dinars in September.
On a monthly comparison basis, the average net wage fell by 1.5% in real terms in September, after rising by 2.4% in August, the statistical office said in a statement.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, the average gross and net earnings in September 2023 are nominally higher by 13.5 percent and in real terms by 3 percent.
However, the average salary for September is lower than the average salary in August this year, when it was 86,112 dinars. Compared to the previous month, the average salary is 1,046 dinars lower.
The median net salary in September was 65,727 dinars, which means that half of the full-time employees earned up to this amount.
