The average net wage in Serbia was higher both nominally and in real terms in August this year than in the same month of 2017, the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia said on Thursday.
According to the latest data, the average net salary stood at 49,773 dinars or 421 Euros and was 6.8 per cent higher nominally or 4.1 per cent in real terms than a year earlier.
The average gross salary in August stood at 68,831 dinars, which is nominally higher by 6.2 per cent or 3.5 per cent in real terms.

Net salaries were higher in the January-August 2018 period by 6.3 per cent nominally and 4.3 per cent in real terms compared to the same period a year earlier while gross wages rose by 5.8 per cent nominally or 3.8 per cent in real terms.
The median net wage in August stood at 39,000 dinars, which means that 50 per cent of the workforce had a salary higher than that amount.
