The average monthly income in cash and in kind per household in Serbia last year amounted to 97,705 dinars, while personal consumption expenditure reached 98,165 dinars, according to the publication Regions in the Republic of Serbia in 2024 by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, reported N1.
The largest share of income in cash and in kind came from regular employment, accounting for 53.4 percent, followed by pensions with 30.6 percent, income from agriculture, hunting and fishing with 3.9 percent, consumption in kind with 2.6 percent, income outside regular employment with 2.3 percent, social security benefits with 2.3 percent, and income from other sources made up 4.9 percent.
As for household personal consumption, the largest share was spent on food and non-alcoholic beverages, accounting for 36.6 percent, and on housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels with 16.3 percent. These were followed by transport with 8.9 percent, personal items and other services with 5.9 percent, communications with 5.4 percent, recreation and culture with 5.2 percent, clothing and footwear with 4.7 percent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 4.4 percent, health with 4.1 percent, and other personal consumption categories made up 8.5 percent.
