The agreement on the right of easement for the use and installation of power cables for the purpose of the construction of a new wind farm, Banat 1, in Alibunar, was signed in this South Banat municipality between representatives of the local self-government and the Belgian-Dutch company WindVision, which is the investor.
According to the president of the Municipality of Alibunar, Dusan Dakic, this is an umbrella agreement from which all other agreements on the construction of the wind farm, expected to start next year, will follow. The installation of cables in the location of the turbines is one of the requirements for this large-scale project to be launched, Dakic notes.
The new wind farm will have 58 turbines and stretch from Vladimirovac, in the territory of the Municipality of Alibunar, toward Novi Kozjak.

The existing wind farms Malibunar and Alibunar 1, built by the Belgian company Elicio, have a total of 24 turbines. Thanks to these two wind farms Alibunar is one of the municipalities that can serve as a positive example of rational and sustainable environmental management, in line with the national strategy of increasing the share of renewable energy in total electricity consumption.
Dakic adds that apart from the Italian company, Parilab which opened a footwear factory in Alibunar and the two Belgian and Dutch energy companies, representatives of Chinese companies have visited Alibunar a few times too searching for investment locations.
On Tuesday, representatives of another company toured the facilities of former Chinese-owned local businesses with the view of opening grain processing and agricultural production facilities.
