A subsidiary of the German company MK – Kliniken AG will build a 10,000 sqm production plant in Pančevo for the design and development of specialised transport containers.
The German company Naval Box – CAL will implement this 10-million-euro investment in Pančevo’s North industrial zone.
In 2020, the German investor submitted a letter of intent to the Development Agency of Serbia, in which they stated their plan to invest in land, buildings, materials, equipment, and parts, and in the first two years, they will employ around 50 full-time workers.
The company also says that, in the next 10 years, it will invest an additional EUR 60 million, and its plan is to build around 100,000 square metres of production plants and employ 1,000 people by 2030.
Three more investments by German companies are being implemented in Pančevo. The German ZF is currently in an advanced fourth phase and will invest 238 million euro and create 589 new jobs by the end of 2027. The Ministry of Economy particularly highlights reinvestments, because the new investments made by existing investors ‘validate Serbia’s economic and political stability and the stability of the investment environment’.
This is supported by the fact that 9 new investment contracts have been signed for projects worth 320 million euros, which will create 2,500 new jobs, as ‘a new impetus for investments in Serbia’.
These include the expansion of the production of automotive electronic equipment at the existing ZF site in Pančevo and the service centre in Novi Sad. In addition to the above-mentioned Naval Box – CAL, the Brose Company is also building a factory here.
According to local government officials, there is no more space in the North 1 and 2 industrial zones, and the formation of a new industrial zone – the North 3 unit – which spans 55 hectares, has been completed.
