AI for Good Impact Europe to be held in Belgrade during Expo 2027

During the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 – currently taking place in Geneva from 7th to 9th July and widely regarded as one of the world’s most important events dedicated to artificial intelligence, which a delegation from the Republic of Serbia also attended – it was confirmed that Belgrade will host the AI for Good Impact Europe event on 17th May 2027, as part of Expo 2027.

AI for Good Impact Europe is the third regional event of the AI for Good global initiative, dedicated to strengthening cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and developing partnerships between governments, international organisations, businesses, academia, and the tech sector.

By bringing together leading international experts, innovators, public policy makers, and industry representatives, the event aims to foster the exchange of knowledge, present the latest AI-driven solutions, and promote international cooperation in support of sustainable development.

“Today, Serbia is developing its own infrastructure for artificial intelligence, has its own national supercomputers, is investing in skills and people, is creating its own large language model in the Serbian language, and co-chairs the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI). All of this demonstrates that Serbia is not merely a user of new technologies, but is also becoming one of their creators. I am particularly pleased that this summit will be held on 17th May 2027 as part of the official business programme of Expo 2027 Belgrade. This is an important international recognition for both Serbia and Expo 2027, which is now recognised as a global platform where the most vital debates on the technologies shaping the future of humanity will take place,” stated Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the Office for eGovernment.

Organising AI for Good Impact Europe within the framework of Expo 2027 confirms the international community’s trust in Serbia as the host country of one of the most significant global events, and further strengthens Belgrade’s role as a meeting point for innovation, technology, and international partnerships.

The Specialized Expo 2027, themed “Play for Humanity: Sport and Music for All”, will run from 15th May to 15th August 2027. Already, 141 international participants have confirmed their attendance: 135 countries and 6 international organisations. This means that, in the summer of 2027, Belgrade will become the meeting place for almost the entire world.
