Afro Cuban All Stars, a world-renowned Cuban music orchestra led by Juan de Marcos Gonzalez, will perform for the first time in Belgrade and Serbia on November 2nd (at 20:30) at the Sava Center.
Cuba’s extraordinarily rich musical heritage is wonderfully depicted by Afro Cuban All Stars in each new concert or release. Their first album, “A Toda Cuba Le Gusta”, was a huge success. It was recorded as part of the eponymous studio session and released in 1997 along with the famous “Buena Vista Social Club” and “Introducing …Ruben Gonzalez”.
De Marcos is the architect behind the Buena Vista Social Club project. As music director, he brought together great musicians such as Ibrahim Ferrer, Pio Leiva, Manuel Lice “Puntillita”, Omar Portuondo, Ruben Gonzalez and others. He also asked the producer Nick Gold to record several albums in Havana for his record label World Circuit which were all tribute to the golden age of Cuban popular music of the 1930s and 1940s.
Tickets for the Afro Cuban All Stars concert on November 2nd can be purchased for 1,800, 2,000, 2,300 and 2,700 dinars at the Sava Centre box office, as well as through the points of sale and www.ticket.rs .
