“The commercial contract stipulating the construction of the Fruska Gora corridor concluded with the Chinese company CRBC, worth 606 million euro, was approved in yesterday’s session by the Serbian government”, confirmed the Minister of Construction, Transport and infrastructure, Zorana Mihajlovic.
She added that, a month ago, Serbia got approval from China-based Exim Bank, and from the Chinese Ministry, to obtain a loan to finance the construction of the Fruska Gora corridor.
“Technical documentation of the project is still not drawn up and we will do that by the end of the year. I believe that we will finally be able to start working on the corridor by the end of next year”, said Mihajlović, underlining that the start of the works will also depend on the available budget funds, because part of the advance is given by the government of Serbia, while the other part comes from the loan.

The construction of the Fruska Gora corridor is also important for the connection to the Ruma-Šabac-Loznica road segment.
The corridor is part of the Novi Sad – Ruma – Sabac – Loznica route which stretches to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and connects Serbia with Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and its surroundings.
The corridor will also connect three municipalities – Novi Sad, Irig and Ruma – and will solve the problem of trucks passing through Fruška gora and the municipality of Irig.
