40% jump in building permits compared to November 2020

In Serbia, 3,334 building permits were issued in November 2021, which is 39.4% more than in the same month last year, the State Statistical Bureau has announced.

According to Biznis.rs, 85.7% of the total number of issued permits refers to buildings and 14.3% to other structures.

In term of only at buildings, 84.3% of the permits were issued for residential buildings and 15.7% for non-residential buildings, while in terms of other structures, majority permits were issued for the construction of pipelines, communications and power lines – 65%.

Developers applied for the construction of 2,538 flats with an average surface area of 76.3 square metres. Of the total number of flats in the new residential buildings, 14.9% of the flats will be built in buildings with one flat, with an average surface area of 146.8 square metres, and 82.9% of the flats will be built in buildings with three or more flats, and their average surface area will be 62.4 square metres.

The expected value of new construction works in November was 72.1% of the total expected value of works. In regards to the parts of the countrys, the highest construction activity is expected in the Belgrade region (19.4%), the Morava region (19%), the Macva region (7.6%) and the Sumadija region (7.4%).
