This year’s Italian Cuisine Week will take place in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Subotica. This is the third consecutive time that the event is taking part in Serbia during which the visitors will be able to experience the excellence of Italian food at the Hyatt Hotel.
The theme of this year’s event is “The Mediterranean Diet”, a concept that combines the quality and healthiness of food with the territories, traditions and identities they represent.
Italian food does not only carry certain symbolism and has a social element that distinguishes ‘Italianness’ all over the globe, but is also a constantly developing sector that today generates 220 billion euro in turnover, equal to 13% of the national gross domestic product, of which the export alone is worth 44 billion euro. .
The programme of the Italian Cuisine Week comprises of conferences, dinners, educational workshops and special promotions in Maxi supermarkets, and can be found on the official website of the Italian Embassy in Serbia here. Also, the website lists the 26 restaurants that have joined the initiative by putting together special menus based on Italian dishes.
The Italian Cuisine Week in the world is organized in Serbia by the Italian Embassy in Belgrade in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture, the Foreign Trade Agency, the Italian-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Confindustria Serbia, and the Honorary Consulate of Subotica with the support of the Maxi supermarket chain and AgriSer.
