“If the epidemiological situation allows it, the 36th Belgrade Jazz Festival will take place from 9 to 13 December. Besides the best jazz musicians who will perform in Belgrade, the festival will also feature the Israeli double bass player, Avishai Cohen, with his trio”, announces Milica Sevarlic from Dom Omladine, which is the event’s organizer.
Sevarlic notes that the “new normal” has dictated the conditions when devising this year’s festival programme:
“We had another plan at the end of last year and at the beginning of this year, primarily in terms of the number of concerts and participants, but everything changed because the US musicians cancelled all the tours at the beginning of the pandemic. However, as things stand at the moment, we have prepared a very exciting programme on a slightly smaller scale for the enjoyment of the audience that is loyal to our Festival”.
“Jazz fans are used to a double concert programme during the course of one evening, and that also goes for the 36th edition of the Jazz Festival,” says Sevarlic.

The Festival will be opened on December 9 by Serbian double bass player Nenad Vasilic, who has lived in Vienna for decades and has an enviable international career.
“Vasilic is preparing his performance in collaboration with the RTS Big Band,” Sevarlic adds.
