34 people test positive to coronavirus, no dead in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, no deaths from the coronavirus were reported in Serbia, while 34 people out of 3,427 tested were positive.

According to Serbia’s Health Ministry covid19.rs website, since the outbreak of the epidemic on March 6, 239 people died from COVID-19 disease, and the mortality stands at 2.13%.

At the same time, 11,227 patients were tested positive in the country, and 6,067 of them recovered.

On Tuesday at 3 pm, 621 patients were hospitalised, 11 of whom are on ventilators.

Since March 6, a total of 223,771 people have been tested.  

The World Health Organization has suspended testing of a malaria drug that was used to treat patients with COVID-19 due to concerns about their health, WHO’s Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced.

More than 5.5 million people have been infected with the virus worldwide.

The Serbian Minister of Health, Zlatibor Lončar, said today that the epidemiological situation in Vranje and Leskovac is under control, as is the number of newly infected people in these two cities.

Finally, all 49 residents of the old people’s home in Kruševac infected with the coronavirus have been cured and have returned to the facility.
