16th Krokodil Festival – Gimme Shelter

The 16th Krokodil Festival will take place in Belgrade, from June 21 to 23, in front of the Museum of Yugoslavia, (6, Mihaila Mika Jankovića Street), with the slogan Gimme Shelter.

The evening programme brings four luminaries of contemporary European (and not only European) literature. Mathias Enard from France, Arnon Grunberg from the Netherlands, Iraqi-Finnish author Hassan Blasim, and Ukrainian writer and translator, Andriy Lyubka, will present themselves in short interviews with hosts and will read excerpts from their most important books.  

 There will also be interviews with the famous rock photographer Brajan Rašić, historian Dubravka Stojanović and actor and writer from Sarajevo, Feđa Štukan.

The daytime programme in the Kids, Debate, and Chill Out zones are geared towards children ages 2 to 14 and will feature various workshops led by the renowned children’s writer Jasminka Petrović, Desa Muck from Slovenia, Merce Gali from Spain, Arianna Papini from Italy, Cirkusfera, Marina Čabrilo, Svetozar Stevin from Novi Sad and Marija Trkulja. The goal of these workshops is for the youngest visitors to develop numerous skills, from creative creation to the art of embroidery, pet therapy and circus skills. This zone will also feature open-air theatre plays, “Forest Fairytale” and “The Princess and the Pea”, performed by the Ćira Travelling Theatre.

Tickets are required only for KROKODIL’s evening programmes, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 21, 22 and 23. Admission to other programmes is free. Tickets will be on sale from Monday, May 20 at Gigs Tix stores and online at new.gigstix.com, as well as at KROKODIL Centre (43, Karađorđeva Street) from Monday, May 27, every workday from noon to 8 p.m.
