The largest and most popular scientific event in the country, the European Researchers Night, will be held for the fourteenth time this year, on September 29 and 30 from 4 to 10 p.m. in 24 towns and cities across Serbia under the slogan “Light of Science”. As every year, admission to the event is free.
The European Night of Researchers takes place at the same time in 26 European countries, with one and a half million people expected to attend.
In Serbia, this scientific event will take place in the following towns and cities – Belgrade, Čačak, Kragujevac, Trstenik, Niš, Leskovac, Ranovac, Rekovac, Zaječar, Negotin, Novi Sad, Šabac, Kikinda, Kruševac, Prijepolje, Priboj, Nova Varoš, Paraćin, Jagodina, Svilajnac, Despotovac, Pirot, Inđija and Ćuprija.
The Researchers Night is particularly appealing to children.
Through a perfect combination of education and entertainment, the latest achievements from many natural and social scientific fields will be presented through workshops, exhibitions, games, competitions, quizzes and live experiments.
“This is a unique opportunity for visitors to learn something from the scientific researchers in a fun way, and vice versa. In recent years, we have witnessed a certain level of mistrust towards certain scientific achievements, so this is an opportunity for scientists to find out how the public perceives them, to hear their dilemmas and answers to them,” Professor Biljana Šljukić Paunković, PhD, project coordinator, says.
