The construction of five major facilities will begin in Zajecar next year, an investment worth close to 100 million euro, that will create nearly 5,000 new jobs.
The British company, Aptiv Packard will open its 40,000-square-metre factory here, worth around 35 million euro. The company is one of the world’s leading producers of electrical and electronic car components. Around 1,000 workers should be employed initially, and after the production develops, another 1,500 new jobs will be created. The company employs nearly 200,000 people worldwide.
The renowned Italian company De Longhi, one of the world’s top producers of small household appliances, intends to move its production to Zajecar, where they want to establish a production centre for Southeast Europe. De Longhi plans to employ around 2,000 workers in this facility worth around 40 million euro.
The German supermarket chain, Lidl has already obtained a land plot in Zajecar, worth around 3 million euro, where it will build a supermarket with jobs for 50 workers. The facility will be located in close proximity to the retail park that is being built by the British Poseidon Group.

The Poseidon Group intends to open a shopping centre, worth around 15 million euro, which would feature the world’s best-known brands. The Group plans to employ around 500 workers here. The company has already bought the land and started building its retail park, which should open in mid-2019.
Finally, housing is being built in Kraljevica, a Zajecar neighbourhood, for 1,000 workers of Russia’s Gazprom who will stay there during the construction of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline section from Vrska Cuka to Paracin. According to the relevant agreement, and following the construction of this mini-town, all the facilities will become the property of Zajecar.
