Of the 1,000 companies with the highest turnover in Serbia, 10% of them paid on average only the minimum wage to their employees last year, i.e. a gross amount of up to 42,963 dinars, according to data compiled by the regional credit rating company, CompanyWall.
About 20 per cent of the companies on the top 1,000 list (in terms of turnover) paid their employees an average of up to 70,000 dinars gross, or about 50,000 dinars net.
In contrast, 23% paid their employees an average monthly salary of between 70,000 and 100,000 dinars gross, or up to 70,000 dinars net. A similar percentage gave an average salary to their employees of up to 100,000 dinars net.
About 15% gave their employees between 100,000 and 150,000 dinars, and about 100 companies more than 150,000 dinars gross on average.
